    Do I need a recipt if the ram goes bad 5 years into the future ?

    No. You don't need any receipt. At least I didn't need one when I did an RMA on my Corsair ram.

    Usually no, you do not need a receipt.

    I have literally walked into Kingston's HQ (in Calif.) and only brought my 3 year-old stick of DDR333 and said that it has been tested and got errors.

    They just swapped me for a new stick.... no questions asked. :)

    There's probably codes on the chip itself indicating that it is indeed manufactured by them
