Will the ThinkPad r61 support Dual Channel Ram?
Crucial says no, Intel's chipset page says yes. Whats truth and what's fiction? I'd like to upgrade the ram after market for a much more reasonable price but don't want to waste some dough on ram that won't function properlly.
I'm considering the following two kits. Which is better?

thanks,

Yes, the R61 supports dual-channel. The chipset determines that - and Intel makes the chipset (965 series). The RAM itself isn't dual-channel by the way - the RAM runs in dual-channel when you install two sticks.
Try the RAM DEALS thread. -
Thanks for clearing that up.
