Ram upgrade- w/ Intel 830MP bridge hub chip?

My -old-Toughbook cf-28P, mobile P3 proc has the above mentioned bridge chip, called a hub instead of north/ south names. I have 256MB soldered on (I believe), 256 none-the-less, natively

Scott Mueller, in his Laptop tome, says it'll (the 830mp) support 1GB of ram. My ram is pc133 sodimm. Panasonic boilerplate says I can add 256. I might be able to ------- borrow a couple of different chips to try out.

Any comments welcome. Any experience? Thanks.

If Panasonic said you can upgrade and you have a couple of PC133 sticks you can try out, then go for it. But if you have to pay for the sticks, then don't bother. Upgrading a machine that old is like beating an old horse.
