HI
In my MSI laptop I have OCed in bios+bclk 102,98 my HyperX Impact 2666MHz 2x8GB sodimms to 3022MHz.
MY BIOS RAM SECTION:
tCL (15) - tRCD (17) - tRP (17) - tRAS (27) - tCWL (15) - tFAW (13) - tREFI (65535) - TRFC (450) - tRRD (4) - tRTP (5) - tWR (10) - tWTR (1) - NMODE (1T) - VDD (1.20V).+ 20mV on uncore in bios and + 29mV on SA in Throttlestop.
Aida benchmarks shows READ at around 44400MB/s, WRITE at around 46100MB/s and COPY at arround 41200MB/s, LATENCY 47,8 - 48,6 ms so it is quite good. But I want more![]()
I am able to boot those to 3158 or 3192 MHZ at 16-18-18-28-1T which shows some great improvments in read, write and copy but the problem is that if I set my ram that high it works ok for some time and then puffff black screen and I need to reboot. The time it happens is different some time this is instant crush, some time it can work for about an hour. It happens mostly when dGPU is involved in work, some gaming or graphics benches, but also purly during CB15 or Prime
I came to the conclusion that the problem is in the ram voltage. Even if I set ram voltage to anything higher than 1.2V for example 1,25 or 1,30 or 1,35V, this value is not saving in the bios and goes back to 1,2V.
Maybe with higher voltage I will be able to do 3090 or 3158 CL15, but how on earth I can make them run at higher voltage?
Thanks

I don't think you can up the voltage for the RAM on the MSI Bios, even though it is unlocked.

Yeah, SVET told me that he don't have solution for this,
But now, I think that maybe if the XMP profile will be set to higher voltage it will work at higher voltage and not reseting back to 1.2V? BUT HOW? And If this will work?Last edited: Feb 6, 2019Vistar Shook likes this.
