I was reinstalling the OS a friends old computer that has Windows 2000 Pro on it, it gets to almost the end then it just restarts the computer and starts again. Its a low end computer. (12gb hd, pent 3, etc.) Is this junk or should I try to wipe the hard drive using the Windows Washer HD Eraser boot cd I have? Thanks for the imput.

When ur re-installing w2k, arent u formatting anyway? Then you wouldnt need to wipe the drive to try and fix it. If u dont format before the install, then I suggest u do, as it then makes a clean install.

Did the machine have any change before you reinstall the OS such as memory?? Does the hard drive has any bad sector??

    Yup, we need more info.
Exactly how far does it get, and how does it restart, and exactly what "starts again" after the restart?
What was installed on it before, were there any problems with that, have you changed any hardware?
