    Hi,

Can somebody pls. advise if there's such a thing as Multi monitor extension socket to allow me to create a Multi monitor environment using SINGLE CPU as shown link below:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-monitor

In short, how do i hook up multiple monitors to a single CPU ? I've already sourced software from NET.

Do you mean you want to hook up 2 monitors to a laptop?

Generally you can hook up one monitor and use the notebook's own screen, to have 2 screens usable in total without any extra hardware (besides the external monitor itself).

I'm not sure if I'm missing the point of your question, but this is easily done with most any external display hooked up to your laptop/pc using any O/S releaed in the past 7-8 years. Through Windows, you can extend your desktop to increase your usable work area. I use this feature to drive video off the laptop onto my TV for movies, etc.

I want to connect multi monitors to my CPU & use it for diff. tasks.
As far as i know, there's only ONE socket to plug the monitor to the CPU.
How can I 'plug' multiple monitors to the CPU ? Is there a 'special' extension socket for this purpose ?

You connect it through the video card not the CPU (Central Processing Unit / Processor). Just so you know :)

And you can't extend it more than with that one connection as a extension cable that's splitted will only show the same thing and not different things.

Though you'll still have 2 screens when hooking up an external monitor as the notebooks screen will work at the same time as the external monitor is connected!

So you'll have TWO(2) visible screens!

So, in short, you will be using the laptop display as your primary display, and the external as the secondary, side by side, presumably.

    Hi,
I just found something that might be just what your looking for.
    http://www.overclockercafe.com/Reviews/VGA/HIS_Multi-View/index.htm

Basically it is an adapter that plugs into your notebook USB port, on the other end is a DVI (or VGA) connector you plug into an external monitor. Cost is around $75. But here's the unique thing, you can buy up to 6 of these suckers and hook up 6 external monitors over USB.

This thing is so cool I'm going to post a new thread for it.
I'd love to see notebookreview.com do a proper review on it.
