Is there any programs out there that can read notebook temps? I have tried SpeedFan but it reports no supported chipset.

I just wondered if there are any other programs I could try

You can do a search for Mobilemeter, I think the download page is in chinese or japanese though, so you would just have to translate it. If you have a P-M you can download NHC also.
    Either work very well.

Pentium-M...it is just an abbreviation like P-4 instead of Pentium-4. Just easier to type. :)

    You can also try:
Motherboard Monitor (has a pretty good list of compliant mobos)

Everest Home Edition (not a service, but has lots of great info about your machine in one easy to use program)

if i were you i would just buy a notebook cooler. :) after that you will not have any heat problem and m sure you will not have any kind of program that monitors notebook temps.

but if you really want a notebook monitoring app, then i don't have anythin to suggest except this great program- HDD Tune. however, it only monitors your your HDD and alert you if your HDD is overheating.

    www.hdtune.com/download.html

if you want notebook cooler, i recommend ANTEC NOTEBOOK COOLER. this cooler works well with my 15.4" notebook (its more efficient in smaller notebook though). it can do a great work too in 17". it cost less than $40.

    Check this site for antec:

    check out these sites:

    http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/page/download_overclock

    http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/143

There are explanations and advice on overheating. The first one is a link to a page with further links to various programs to monitor your PC.

The second link is explanations and advice,

    Hope it helps

To translate, I simply copy and paste the URL into google translate and it translates the page and links you to it.

    www.google.com/translate

and there is the japanese to english translation, although it is a BETA translation

Like all the other programs it still cant seem to read my ACPI thermal control sensor :(

    ^^^ screenshot.

My Laptop config guide and manual mentions the words ACPI, Temp Sensor and Thermal control. So Im pretty sure there is a sensor but no program seems to be able to report its status ??

The only thing I've found that can read all my temp sensors is Everest Ultimate Edition. It reads all 5 of my temps. CPU, GPU, GPU ambient, HDD1 & HDD2. It will also log and sort your temps to a html file in real-time. It will also tell you everything u ever wanted to know, didn't want to know, could care less about, etc about your system. Great program.

Everest cant do it either. the Sensors page is blank. On the CPUID section there is a tick box next to "Thermal 1" and the only temp related thing it says is "Chassis Temp = Safe" Why cant a get an actual temp figure ? :(
