hey guys, it's time!!!
i am finally ready to place my SSD order, and was wondering if the 180GB OCZ vertex 2 is still my best choice. i don't mind waiting a bit longer if there is something new/better RIGHT around the corner. what do u guys suggest i should do?
i need the 2.5" model, correct? i see a few different variations of some models, so i just want to make sure i get the right product.

All depends on what you use your SSD for. If you are writing alot of files, I would recommend SF based SSD. Intel SSD's supposdely last longer, but at the cost of write speed..
SF is going to offer you the best performance for the price right now. -
If you can wait a few months, that might be better. The next generation of SSDs is supposed to come out Q1 next year (I think the last reported date was February 11th, or something like that).

SSDs are only going to get cheaper. Remember 20 GB IDE drives? Now we have 3 TB drives and climbing. -
Oh, certainly, but 2 months is not out of the question, unless, of course, you need a new drive now. And that release will probably drive current drives even cheaper, although I think the impending release is behind a lot of the current pressure on prices anyway, apart from it also being holiday season and all.
Ready to Order SSD! :)
