I need it to have at least 5 years of warranty , and it must be fast! and if possible, quiet too. USB preferably, since I only have Firewire and USB ports...
I`m using a Green Drive Fantom and it clicks and cracks constantly. Oh well, 140$.. what can I say :D

Check out the WDH1U10000N, ST310005FDA1E1 and this LACIE.

I think the WD has a 1 year warranty, and the seagate has a 5-year.

It doesn't matter, no USB drive will be fast... they're all limited by the USB bus.
Firewire might be a little better...
But if you want fast, get an eSATA Expresscard (I'm assuming you don't have an eSATA port built in) and a hard drive with an eSATA enclosure.

Make your own man, build an external enclosure yourself out of perforated stailess steel or something like that, and install any harddrive you want. Thats what I did about a year ago with my new 1Tb Hitachi drive.

My Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB is a great drive. Very quiet. Although new generation 1Tb drives were reported by Tomshardware about a week ago, so the new ones should be out soon. Hitachi bumped their warranty on the 1Tb drives to 5yrs, on the Ultrastar versions
