    Hi Folks,

Could you recommend me a mSATA to SATA 3 converter that you personally have used for extended periods of time [as in left on for 24 hours].

I have bought a MyDigitalSSD one [ http://www.amazon.com/MyDigitalSSD-...e=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&showViewpoints=0 ], and foolishly ignored this one star review:

And as a result, also nearly put my drive and laptop on fire as well!

I cannot find many reviews of those in the internet, just one really: http://www.legitreviews.com/addonics-ad25msd-msata-to-2-5-inch-sata-drive-enclosure-review_141758 which does not specify if it has been used by extended period of time. I ask because the problem started by leaving the laptop on overnight.

Have you used any of these devices? Can you recommend me any other brand?

If MyDigitalSSD one worked for you, then I wish you luck, I'm not giving them another chance. Please share our experiences.

    Thank you!

I have had this Renice adaptor for several years but it only gets used occasionally (for cloning which is heavy usage when it happens).

Dell use this unit for mounting mSATA drives into 2.5" bays. I had one in my Latitude E7440 and it never caused problems - the absence of a big board will improve the airflow around the electronics. It might be adaptable to fit other notebooks (may need to cut off the lugs for the fixing screws).

I'm wondering whether that question relates to putting an mSATA SSD in the WWAN slot (they say "additional") which was also mSATA compatible and it's possible that it was only SATA 2 speed. I did, for a while, have an SSD in that slot when I had the E7440 but can't remember testing the speed.

The mSATA SSDs I tried in my E7440 with the interposer ran at SATA 3 (>500MB/s). There should be a CrystalDiskMark result in my E7440 review.

@sapochule I use 3 of these, they're great. Avoid cheaper adapters without case - they may break SATA connector when used in laptop.

@Starlight5 thank you so much for the TIP, the one you pointed out has just arrived and seems to be working pretty well, no temperatures over 100 degrees celsius as of yet, it peaked at 67 degrees. If there is any problems, I will surely update this topic.

@sapochule glad you like it. Temperatures depend on your SSD, mostly.
