When I finally do get my laptop what I want to do is turn on the Desktop which is connected to cable internet (Motorolla Surf Modem), then set the laptop up in another room and still get on Internet with it as well.
Don't know why for sure, but apparently I don't have best possible situation so want something that will do a really good job within a distance of about 60 - 80 feet from the desktop.

Any advice on make and model, other than Linksys? I want to avoid Linksys since I just finished getting 2 defective new Linksys wired routers in less than two months.

    nice pick up.
how's yur connection speeds and range? and how are u enjoyin the m1530 so far?

most ppl have had alot of success with the dlink dir-655 and linksys wrt600n. heard nothin but good things about these 2 routers.

    i, personally, have a linksys wrt350n with DD-WRT v24 reflash. i get a solid 130mbps throughout my house (2 story townhouse).

what wireless network card does yur laptop have?
