Hi everyone, so I'm planning to buy a new computer next year when Ivy bridge and the new series of GPUs drop, but I wanna start getting some components now that aren't so volatile so I'm thinking monitor(s) keyboard/mouse, etc. I wanna do a triple-monitor setup, i.e. Eyefinity or 3D Surround. Problem is, I know nothing about monitors. Do any of you guys, preferably with triple-monitor experience, have any recommendations for any monitors that work well next to each other? By this I mean, that they conform well to each other and are just genuinely good quality.

I'm looking to spend ~$200 per monitor, give or take ~$50 if anything. My preferences are 21.5-23/24 inches, black colored, sleek/slim and 1080p is a must. As far as LCD/LED is concerned, I don't really know enough about them to decide. Oh and I'm not a big fan of Gateway or Dell too, if that matters.

    Thanks in advance,

Well, if you can get something like 3 Dell U2212HM, or 3 IPs monitors you'd find the experience quite nice. IPS monitors are more expensive, but they have better overall colors and viewing angles. 3 IPS monitors is gonna cost you, think $600 or more at the very least. 600$ if you can get 22" IPS displays on sale. I would get three identical monitors at the very least so you won't have huge differences in the default color calibration of the monitors, especially if you intend to game on 3 monitors.

I own a LG IPS226V and i have to say it destroys all the TN panels i've seen so far. If i have the money, i'd be running three of those.

To be honest, Dell makes some great monitors in that size range. Ever seen the Dell Ultrasharp line?

EDIT: tijo beat me to the Ultrasharps

I'm assuming you mean $600 EACH for the IPS monitors right? Because the cheapest I've seen them run for is around a thousand. :(

I probably should have been clear about price though. I knew I forgot something. I'll amend my post. But basically, I'm looking to spend ~$200 per monitor, maybe give or take ~$50.

Well I had a really bad Dell computer like 10 years ago, but I suppose that's enough time for improvement so I'm open-minded as far is brand is concerned.

Actually that Dell one looks great, and affordable too. I'm wondering now though, would it be possible to buy one now and get the other 2 a few months down the road when I have an actual rig that can support them? I'm not sure how often monitor models refresh or like how often they're given noticeable upgrades.
