I have an Acer Aspire 3000. It has a SiS IGP. I am wanting to turn up the refresh rates on my screen. It is set to 60 Hz now. My IGP is pretty good considdering its an IGP. It can support a max refresh rate of 85 Hz on all resolutions up to 2048 x 1536, which it can only support a 75 Hz refresh rate. But the exception is two resolutions, 1280 x 800 (my screen resolution) and 1680 x 1050. These two resolutions it can only support a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Is this because my screen can only handle those refresh rates? I would like to turn it up because I know a higher refresh rate is better for your eyes. I have a program called PowerStrip that can modify the settings to allow for a higher refresh rate, but should I?

You don't need to change refresh rate on a laptop....
