I have a Sony Vaio PCG XG29 tha has given up the ghost.
I want to remove the hard drive to get the data and to use as a separate pocket hard drive. I have done the easy bit and I have the enclosure!
Does anyone have and advice as to how to get the drive out? Any links or diagrams gretly appreciated. Sony just keep saying that it is not a replaceable part and so I should send the unit to them to be repaired!
    Anyone have any tips?

No tips, but just wondering if you found anything out? I'm trying to replace the HDD in my PCG-F590.

You can google for a Sony teardown guide.

Sonys tend to be less user accessible than most laptops. Your best bet is to slowly and carefully remove your casing screws and take the thig appart.
