    Hello all,

I am new to this forum as well as to computer repair. Apologies if this the wrong forum. I searched thoroughly for a solution to my problem.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga. The current screen, which I believe was OLED (not sure), has a crack. I ordered a replacement screen and touch digitizer through ebay, which was described as having a 40 pin edp connector, but when it arrived, it had only 30 pin connector. I realize I can send this back to manufacturer, but I fear that the screen I need is not actually available anywhere including Lenovo's website. I would rather have a lower resolution functioning screen than none at all.

I'm wondering if I use one of these converters might be a solution to my problem:

It seems to me that the laptop should probably be able to handle a lower resolution output. It's my supervisor's computer and I don't want to fry the thing.

    Thanks for any help.
