As stated I have a sony laptop and would like to install a larger hard drive — however I have heard that it is a real pain on Sony’s am I looking for problems and if so I will just get a second drive and install it in an external case. However it would be great if I could upgrade to a 7200 RPM drive any advice —thank you

Usually there is a few screws to take off and you slide/take out the hard drive, but I'm not super familar with this model. You may want to consult with Sony if this is still under warranty. Depending of what Sony thinks is a user upgradeable part, replacing the hard drive may have consequences for your warranty. I know there are some Sony models that they do not cosider hard drives to be user upgradeable. Sony may also have more detailed instuctions on how to do it, if it is not covered in the manual. Good Luck.
