Hi! I have a LG S1 Express Dual (M555-P model). My screen is like it was "painted" with a coal pencil very lightly, but it enough to take some of the brightness. The serial number of the screen is LP154W01-TLB5, it has WSXGA(1280x800). Can anyone tell me if i can replace with a screen with more resolution like WSXGA+(1680x1050) and one that it uses LED technology, like this one "http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-15-4-WXGA-LED-B-L-Screen-Exact-LP154WP2-TL-A4_W0QQitemZ270410181700QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_LaptopAccess_RL?hash=item3ef5b3ec44"?

    Best regards!

It is all down to your bios. If your laptop was also sold with high res screens or LED screens then you should not have any problem with the upgrade.
If your laptop was not also sold with high res screens or LED screens then they may or may not work.

Your safest option is to replace your screen with one with the same ref (i.e. LP154W01-TLB5)

I know that there was a version of this laptop that was sold with WSXGA+ screens in germany, so this should work, but certainty would be better... Too much money to have stuck if this doesn't work.
    Thx for the reply anyway!

    Regards!

That' a good news for the OP. The OP should check if he can find the ref number of this WSXGA+ screen. Also he needs to check if both this german version and his laptop share the same bios revision. If they have the same version then it won't be necesary for him or her to upgrade their bios. Otherwise a bios upgrade might be required.
