    Hello,

My T60 15.4" WSXGA is behaving erratically. 3/4 of the bottom half of the screen would turn white. I opened up the laptop - and discovered that the problem was with the pressure contacts on the left of the screen. This is something I could not fix.

I want to replace my screen - a WSXGA with a WUXGA.

Is a WUXGA screen compatible with a T60 that originally had a WSXGA?

Can I buy the LCD from Lenovo?

    Thanks!
    ~KittyLee~

Is your notebook still under warranty? Lenovo will ship you a need WSXGA LCD for free. If not, I'd still give Lenovo a call, and see what they can do for you.

The laptop fell out of warranty in April. I did call them wanting to order a part and with this same question - if I could replace a WSXGA with a WUXGA screen? I could not find a definite answer. Besides, Lenovo will not ship an LCD. Hazardous Material or something. It's around $500 to get this done through them.

After a while, neither could I. And then the cat decided to play "lets knock the screws off the table" to make things worse.

If it's not led backlit you can probably find a new panel on ebay.

Yes, but can I replace a WSXGA screen with a WUXGA screen on the T60?
[It's worth spending some more money and getting a better quality screen. ]

I can order a WUXGA on Ebay, but if it does not work there is a 20% restocking fee.

Well I did upgrade from wsxga+ to wuxga but that was a gamble because the lcd flex cable might not have supported that resolution... Basically it comes to the number of pins on the flex cable.

Why don't you post your question on this site. I think you will get a definitive answer there are there are people who have swapped out screens and have more experience with it. I think there is a guy who swapped out a screen on his old R series machine with a WQXGA screen!
