Okay, I'm not the most tech-savvy person around, so here's my dilemma. I really dig a 15.4" WUXGA display (1900x1200 resolution). I've become more and more interested in purchasing a new notebook as my graphics card becomes more and more dated. All of the potential notebook replacements I've found don't offer a WUXGA display. So--a) is it possible to replace an ASUS or Toshiba display with a 15.4" WUXGA display, and b) would other manufacturers' replacement displays work instead of whatever model ASUS and Toshiba use? If you have to insult me and tell me that I shouldn't have started a new thread, then so be it, but I'd appreciate it if you'd at least offer some help, advice, information or redirect me to another thread/link. Any help is appreciated.

Well, I appreciate your help, and it's just that I've seen it all too often on countless other threads on countless other forums and message boards. Some new guy comes along and all of the sudden he's an "expletive this and expletive that" because he couldn't find a similar thread that could have answered his question.
Any additional input from other members who have successfully completed a display recplacement is greatly appreciated! -
If you give us the specific models you're looking to replace the displays on it will be easier to assist you.

Currently, I'm debating between the Asus G50V-X1 and the Toshiba Qosmio F50 unless anyone else can recommend any other candidates. Mostly looking for a 15.4" form factor with the best available GPU within a reasonable price range. Anyone have any experience in reverting systems from Windows Vista back to Windows XP?

Thanks for linking me. Either way, those are the two models I'm most interested in right now. Would you have any idea how to go about finding out which system sports which displays?

Unfortunately, I do not. You could make a post in the proper subforums (Asus, Toshiba) asking whether or not you can get a WUXGA screen for those specific notebooks.
Good luck,

Thanks for all the help, man.
