    Hello!

Hoping for some advice. I have a Vaio VGN-SR5 which I’ve cleverly broken the LCD on. I’ve checked with a few laptop LCD repairer/suppliers in the UK and I get the same response “they are rare and expensive” and are quoting £300+ pounds.

What I’m trying to work out is whether I specifically need an exact match. I can find a Sony laptop screen of exactly the same specifications: 13.3” WXGA 1280x800 for a fraction of this price but have no idea if it would have the same connections.

I don’t care if it doesn’t have the same gloss finish or contrast or something, would just like to be able to see more than 1/3 of what’s on the screen!

Any help or ideas anyone has would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Ally
