I have had my Studio 1555 for a couple of years now and the left hand side clip holding the cover and front bezel has snapped. This means there is a big gap.
I am looking to replace it, and I think I will need to replace both the bezel and cover, but not 100% sure.
And looking at the cover it looks like I can't replace the back cover without removing the whole screen due to the hinges. I'm sure it's possible to just replace the bezel without removing the whole screen.
Does anyone have any advice? Or know how much it should cost to get it done by a laptop repair place?
Dell want £145 to replace it so that's out the window

Ive done a few not your model but usually you have screws under them rubber pads on your bezel. You will need a small knife or similiar to pull them off then take screws out and pop the bezel off.
It takes a little pressure to get it off working around it but it will come off,no need to replace back cover.
Anyway hope this helps. -
If you look in this imageyou will see a tiny gap on the bottom of the rounded bit where the power button. That gap has become much bigger on my laptop as the clip joining those two parts (the cover and front bezel) has broken. However, on my laptop, it is broken on the left hand side which is exactly the same apart from the fact that there is no power button there

Go to support.dell.com, punch in your Service Tag number and get the service manual. Gives you exact instructions on what to do. Be careful with those Studio, they are a pain to take apart, and if something isn't coming off when it says so, stop.

The thing I'm more unsure of is replacing the back cover because I'm guessing the actual LCD sits in it
This is looking so complicated. It does look doable though. I'm just worried about mucking something up -

Ya i see what you mean now,um there must be a way to take it apart,no screws, maybe their made to just pull apart with a little pressure!.
Im sure someone who has done this will chime in soon.... -
I'm wondering if, with the display module still connected, I can remove the front bezel then remove the back cover carefully not moving it far from the laptop so the wires stay intact, and then I could perhaps unscrew the screen panel from the "old" back cover and screw it into the "new one", and join it back up, moving any wires into the new one.
But the Dell Manuals aren't the clearest.

You may wish to ask this question in the Dell subforum, where there might be other owners of a Studio 1555 whom may have done this before. You can ask a mod to move the thread by reporting your opening post and asking it to be moved.
