My alienware manual says i can replace the DVD drive for a Hard drive. I was wondering would any hard drive that fits into a cd drive work? and does anyone have any websites.

kevin,
this is the adaptor you are looking for:

You simply insert a standard 2.5" SATA harddrive inside, and than slide it into your Alienware.
This kind of adaptor works for most laptops.
All you need to do is measure the thickness of your current optical drive. If your optical drive is 12.7mm thick, than you can use the adaptor I linked you to.
I do not know if you can boot off this drive, but I know you can use it as a secondary storage drive.

Yeah sad to say so far no one has tried to make a new type of USB device that could allow us to transfer data as quick as optical drives... Flight simulator is a very amazing and realist sim game.
