    Hi there,

I just want to know what would be the rough cost on replacing my graphics card and possible motherboard in my Toshiba P100.... The graphics card is a Geforce 7600

I hope that they didnt fry cause you overclocked them.

Well the geforce 7600 will probably run you close to $200, and the motherboard will run from $150-600.

Your best bet is to check ebay, cause to buy them new is going to be very expensive.

No i think i screwed up my graphics card from constantly connecting and disconnecting it to my TV. The laptop runs fine and then freezes and when it boots back up, the screen wont come on. Toshiba told me the GPU is a seperate part as its a dedicated geforce 7600.. I might only get the Graphics card and see how it goes...

    Any thoughts??

Are you sure its the graphics card? Because it could be a hundred other things apart that.. What makes you so sure its the card?

Remastered?? Ok well aside from hardware... its definatly not due to drivers, virus, messed up registry\system files?

I had a nasty little acebot trojan on an old laptop that caused bsod's and eventually caused the touchpad to stop working... was sure i damaged the connector cable myself.

Have you safe booted and checked the log file for errors?

You might check for "flat rate" repair from Toshiba. Unless you get lucky, guessing on repairs can hurt you. The "OC" in your sig could be a problem?

This after you tried all software tips and a full system restore from your Toshiba OS restore disks.

And iv used both WinXP pro and my XP Media Centre reinstall disks.. New and original drivers etc.. Replaced Hard Drive. etc.. Iv done everything so it must be hardware..? What are the chances it is a problem with the RAM slots themselves..? Coz ic heard problems with them can cause similar problems to what im having...

You would probly know if it was the ram slots as its doubtful they would just start acting up without BEING damaged... Another possibility is static which could have fried your mobo. Have to agree with hydra, flat rate repair sounds like a good option, although if its costing an arm and a leg to replace parts the maybe just a new laptop.
