    Replacing Hard Disk in Laptop

    I took out SATA 1TB hard disk(win10 installed) from broken Dell Inspiron 5547(i5) and want to replce in my current working Laptop Lenovo Thinkpad T430 (hard disk is 320GB HDD). I never did before.Kindly let me know the steps to replace it,please

    Just take out the old one from the bay on the right side and install the new one. Make sure you insert it the same way it was installed so the SATA connector matches correctly. Here's an official video from Lenovo support. VIDEO
    Consider that after doing this you will have to install a fresh copy of Windows 10 (or the OS of your preference) so make sure you already have an USB or a CD configured to install the new OS on your new installed hard drive.

    There is another alternative. The T430 comes with a removable optical drive. You could swap the drive from the Dell in that position and have lots more storage. Most people don't use the optical drive much these days.
