    Dear all,

One of my friend accidently spilled beer on my Lenovo X1... which resulted in my "enter" key no more working. Now, since Lenovo does not cover me for this kind of accident, I have to replace it. I was thinking of doing it myself since in shops it could be long and expensive.

    1. Now, since I mainly use my keyboard in French, do you think replacing the English keyboard with a French one is okay?
As you can see, the layouts are a little different. Thing is: I am, anyways, not only to change the keys, but the whole surface.

    Here are the two models:
IBM Thinkpad Keyboard Mouse PAD SET P N 0C02179 FRU 04Y0788 | eBay

Clean IBM Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Palmrest Keyboard FRU 04Y0786 04x3601 | eBay

    2. If I simply change the keyboard for another English one, is it important whether I get the exactly same SKU? There is a slight difference between two models, one with a windows 8 logo on the windows key, on with a windows 7 logo.

    3. In all cases, is it hard to change this keyboard?

    Cheers!
