I use my HP zv6000 as my main computer, and i find that I am constantly deleting files to make room for other things. I only have a 40gb hard drive, so i'm wondering how hard it is to replace the hard drive in my laptop, how do i do it, and will it void my warranty?

It is not hard at all and doesn't void your warranty. On the underside of your zv6000, you will see a rectangular compartment - in there is the hard drive.

It is pretty easy to replace the hard drive. On most laptops, this is how it is done.
1. remove battery and unplug from power outlet.
2. unscrew and remove cover
3. pull out he drive
4. if drive have bracket, remove it and install on new drive
5. plug in new drive
6. close cover and screw down
7. install battery
BTW don't forget to ground yourself to discharge any static electricity before touching the hard drive.
Not sure if it will affect the warranty. In any case, if you keep your old drive then you can put it back in case you need to send your laptop in for warranty. If you do elect to keep your old drive, you can put it inside an external enclosure. -
The hard drive is considered a user upgradeable part.
