Just a quick question about replacing my internal hard drive on my notebook ( Sager NP5750). I've never done this before so I just want to make sure before I buy anything and make a fool of myself.

Okay so short story: Hard drive is dead. Currently have a Fujitsu MHV2080BH (80GB, 5400 RPM SATA).
I know how to take it out of the notebook (already done) and put a new one in and do all that stuff. Just need to make sure that the one I will buy as a replacement will work.

What exactly do I need to look out for when I get one?
    1) Needs to be 2.5"
    2) SATA
    3) ???

For example, would something like this work fine:
    Seagate Momentus 7200.4 160GB 2.5IN SATA 7200RPM 16MB Hard Drive

    Thanks for the help!

u need a 2.5 inch 9.5mm SATA drive... The seagate momentus will work but it's not a good choice.. known to have a lot of problems.. u can try getting a hitachi 7K500 which comes in 250,320,500GB size.. its the fastest notebook drive and should run quiet and fast... another option would be western digital Scorpio Black.. but stay away from seagate.. its also known to be noisy..

I have two of these drives and they have worked flawlessly for me. I know in the past they had a higher than average failure rate but I think Seagate fixed those issues.

Apparently Chaz also stated that the Seagate drives underperformed in benchmarks, just as an FYI.

Complaints of the "click of death" also seemed to be very common, although I haven't seen many of those recently. There may have been more complaints about it just because the indicators of failure were more obvious, but it's difficult to tell.
