The small 5400rpm harddrive in my notebook isn't really satisfying me anymore so I was thinking of changing it to a 100+ gb 7200rpm one. Is it possible to just remove the old one and fit in the new one? same size? Anything I should know before I change it, if it's possible?

    Thanks.

Just make sure you get the right type of connection for the new hard drive (SATA vs. parallel)

Yes. Refer to your notebook manual, which you can download of Asus's website. You'll need a 2.5" HDD that is SATA probably, but do check whether your HDD is SATA or IDE (PATA)
