Just a quick note, I installed Windows 10, quickly discovered they nerfed OneDrive so I reverted back to 8.1 using the built in option.
Everything worked great except I soon discovered once 8.1 came back up I had much more SSD free space. In the process of reverting back it expanded my C: partition to fill the drive, so I no longer have any overprovisioning on that drive.
Heads up for any others out there to look out for thinking about reverting.

tilleroftheearth Wisdom listens quietly...
How much free space did you have before and after the upgrade and the downgrade?
I'm surprised that the partitions were touched at all... -
Overprovisioning shouldn't be affected by partition level changes, or filling the drive up. The only overprovisioning that is of any effect on SSDs is reducing the stated capacity by way of manipulating the settings with hdparm or similar.
So basically, much ado over nothing. Actually trying to manually over-provision through partitioning is probably less efficient than partitioning the whole drive and letting Windows handle things. There's a blog entry by a Microsoft engineer out there that describes, in detail, how it all works and why manual intervention, short of firmware-level drive capacity de-rates, is probably counterproductive. -

So what's the big deal? Just shrink the last partition by as much space you want to OP and be done with it.
Also, what do you mean by "I discovered they nerfed OneDrive", it is actually much better now, it is not the heavily integrated into the OS OneDrive that as in 8 but it is more like the normal OneDrive you'd install on Windows 7.
The problem I had with the Win 8 One Drive is that a lot of times it would just start checking for changes for more than an hour or two even though I hadn't touch any file and the 2nd problem is, any custom folder icons I set gets reverted back to the default folder icon after syncing. That bothers me because I move my Documents, Pics, Music, Videos to my OneDrive, once I move them, they retain their icons, but after a while, they seem to go back to the default folder icons.Last edited: Jul 31, 2015
Reverting to Windows 8.1 from 10 removes Overprovisioning
