Suppose I buy a laptop that has a VGA and a HDMI out (or a VGA and a DisplayPort out). Suppose it has Intel HD graphics.
Question: can the laptop drive two external monitors simultaneously? I'd appreciate any explanation on this. Is the answer a categorical no? Does it depend on the exact laptop model? Will it work if the internal LCD is off (I suppose integrated graphics cannot drive three monitors simultaneously)?
Please note that I won't consider a dock or an external card such as Matrox TripleHead2Go. The question is just if I would be able to use the laptop's VGA and HDMI (or DisplayPort) outs simultaneously.

I believe the only notebooks that can run 2 external monitors plus the internal display and not have them mirrored, are the new ATI notebooks with the HD5xxx series graphics cards with eyefinity.

if i can extend the display for two screens , one internal monitor and one external monitor with different resolutions i suppose there wont be any problem with three monitors....
