Hi, I recently bought an Asus S96J laptop. I've been worried about warm temps as my fan blows out a lot of hot air, sometimes even while doing simple tasks like listening to music. I downloaded Everest and it shows that my CPU idles at around 53-54°C. I feel like this is probably a little hot, and I am considering putting some Arctic Silver on the CPU, though I know it would take a bit of doing to open up the laptop and put it on. Is there any advice?

I wouldnt worry about those temperatures. Those arent even in the danger area so dont worry. 70-80C is hot and 90-100C is dangerous.

My CPU idles at 60C as does most peoples give or take a few C. Things you can do to reduce heat:

    1) Undervolt your laptop
    2) Get a laptop cooler
    3) Apply AS5 (a bit tricky and fiddly though)

I agree. Don't worry. These chips can go to 100C. It is evident they are hot chips, which makes sense. 2 very powerful chips on 1 die.
