Anyone have any reviews on it, likes and dislikes? Thinking of getting it but want to know from those of you that use it how it is. Thanks.

I have one running on my Acer Aspire 2000. Sound is much better than the onboard sound. I have it connect to Cambridge Soundworks Digital (2.1) and I now enjoy listening to music from my laptop. I plan on getting a 5.1 system next but this is a major step up. I also bought a DVD-Audio disc and it sounds great. Got mine from Newegg.

Thanks for the response. One more q, is there any extra battery drain using this card in the laptop vs. just having regular sound out of your laptop speakers? Did you notice shorter battery life when the card was plugged into the PCM slot?

Well, I put an order in for one yesterday. I was listening to a concert DVD with headphones the other day and the sound made me cringe. I didn't even have it on very loud and the sound just wasn't there. Hopefully with the card it'll make my laptop sound like my desktop setup. Once I get it I'll post my findings here.

I just ordered one from dell yesterday as well. Bought myself an Inspiron 8600 and didn't want to leave my 5.1 speaker system collecting dust...Tom's hardware had a pretty good review of it. I got it from dell for $89.00 shipped. The only problem is that it wont ship for another week and a half or so.

I picked up my soundcard yesterday, installed it with the software and did the updates.
WOW!!!! What a difference in sound!!!! [] It's so crisp and clear even through headphones and you can crank it as loud as your ears can handle.
I'll need to try it out over by the desktop so I can hook up my desktop speaker setup to try out and I'm sure it'll sound as good as the desktop setup (also have an audigy 2 card on it).
I'm running my PCM soundcard in advanced mode which is the setting it recommends so I'm getting all the benefits of the sound card on my Acer. Those of you thinking about getting one should visit SB website and check out the compatibility chart for the card before purchase, make sure your PCM controller and chipset in your laptop can support all the features of the soundcard.
A definite recommended purchase.
