    Hi,
My 2530P's SD card reader stopped working. Windows makes a sound when a card is inserted but nothing shows up in "My Computer" or in "Computer Management". I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled with no success. Running Windows 7 x64 Professional. I would appreciate any thoughts.
    Thanks

Have you tried a known working SD card? Perhaps your SD card went bad? Is your SD card on lock?

Well yes, that is the first thing I checked. Thanks.

    I'll try that. Thanks.
EDIT: It seems to be the same as the 7x64 driver.

    | I'll try that. Thanks.

My problem was with the HP 8530, but they both have the same chipset and card reader. Like I said, Vista driver worked, the one listed on Windows 7 page didn't - no idea why...

This. Try using a different card if you have it. If not, verify by using another computer or device that the card you have is working.

The cards aren't delicate, (not that they can't still be damaged) but they must be inserted with care or you can damage the internal pins which can be very costly to repair.

Sometimes its just not inserted properly, or all the way. Check these things...carefully!

I checked three or four cards, and confirmed they work on another computer.
