Ok, so I'm looking for a 32GB card for my new Alienware PC and was wondering if it's worth spending the extra money for a "pro" 90MB/sec card or just go with the cheaper and slower ones?
Does the data bus for these on PC's handle faster cards? or is there a bottle neck that makes the faster cards a waste of money?
thanks

Why would you want SD card over USB Flash drive ?
Answering your question, Yes, you will utilize the speed when copying files, only question is - do you really need it ? -

It depends on what you're using it for really. If you're going to be using it on a regular basis (Like playing games or running a VM from it), it might be worth it, if you're just dumping a music collection on it, then not really.

If you're just using it for storing files/music/videos, there's no need to get anything faster. Though if you're planning on installing the OS or programs on the SD card, faster would be better, but then why in the world would you install that on a SD card?

Honestly I'm not sure what I'll use it for... I like the idea of a bootable OS setup incase of a problem with my boot drive, I also like the idea of storing temporary Video's on it so it doesn't fill my HD (most of my space on the AW PC's is 7200RPM traditional HD)...
Seems like a removable, fast 32GB drive for $59 which can easily fit in a small pocket is a no-brainer for many reasons..
Main thing I care about is fastest possible access/read/write .. but if the ports are bottlenecked slower than the cards, there's no sense in buying the faster and more expensive card, right? -
It's worth getting the extra speed if you're doing image backups or OS boots. I got really lucky and nabbed at 128gb cat 10 for $50 on a New Year's Day sale! It copies around 80-90MB/s and is a great for backing up the OS and having repair tools on their just incase something happens away from base. I'd never use the SD drive otherwise.
