I have an old laptop based on SIS 672M + 968 chipset. I was able to hack the Phoenix bios to show a menĂ¹ called "PATA+SATA control id" . In this menĂ¹ you can select id combinations for storage controller. IDE + AHCI is 5513 + 1185 , however no matter what I select the bios keeps reverting to 5513 + 1183 ( IDE + IDE) with the result that the sata II hdd is working in emulation IDE mode. Any clue? I posted pictures of the bios screen at bios mods in this thread -> https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-REQUEST-sis-672m-1-16-various-laptops-unlocked-ahci-bios
