I just got my new Novatech x80r / Clevo M570RU today, and it's great, but the SPDIF jack doesn't seem to be working.

I get sound fine from the internal speakers and headphone, but when I set the playback device to the digital output, I don't get anything. There is no red glow in the SPDIF socket either.

    Please help.

aha, so it is not an optical output but a coaxial one with a different connector?

    Strange..

Yep, I just went out to get a 3.5mm jack to RCA connector and it's working fine.

    Thanks.
