yes it is. However,if you want Q9xxx, you might want to double check whether quads are supported and that the cooling system can dissipate the extra 10W of heat

ppl have managed to put quads in SR series from what i heard but battery life drops like a rock.. u can put in T9400/9600/9800/9900 for sure.. T9900 is ur best bet and u can get it for about $300 on hp spare parts store.. IMO , not worth the risk to try out Q9000/9100...

thank you all for your quick responses, how would i verify that the bios will support it? im not particular about battery life. does anyone have a link for a quad in a SR series? for me the 9800/9900 is the same cost as a q9100

    thanks

I had a look at SR41 in our shop yesterday and I got quite doubtfull it can take quad, it will require a bit more cooling than there is. Go with a t9800, it will suffice for most of your needs.

aside from cooling do you know if bios would support quad...

t9800 seems like the right way to go, but am still curious about quad

after checking google I kinda get a feeling that you are going to get the pride of first discovery. Or, well, disappointment of such...

Good luck, Ben! If it takes quads and manages to keep the temps in reasonable range, it will be a priceless little beast =)
