Yes, I have read the big, huge, thread.
I've enjoyed my current 128gb Warp V2, but I could use some more space. I have basically narrowed it down to a 250gb OCZ Vertex or the new 160gb Intel. For sure the Intel is the better SSD, but is got a 90gb less space. So I'm leaning toward the Vertex. Any thoughts?

I'm in a similar position. I'm not sure I'm ready for a 64-80GB primary drive, but I'm pretty sure 120-128GB would work.
I've decided to wait a couple weeks to see what price the OCZ Vertex and Summit settle at. Right now, there's no point in buying a 120GB Summit at Newegg for $369 when the 160GB Intel is only about $70 more.
Edit: Just remembered this chart.

This could actually be a tough call. If I can get a good 128GB drive from OCZ for $290, that means Intel costs $150 more for 32GB. -
Corsair has a 128GB for $384 which has the potential to be the new fastest SSD. Just released the 17th and can't find any reviews yet.

Anyway, for a larger drive I have chosen the Corsair P256, which is a rebadged Samsung with Corsair firmware. It doesn't benchmark as fast as the Vertex but it is cheaper and suffers no lockup issues. There are also reports which show it to be superior in actual RL aps: [ http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/storage/2009/06/05/corsair-p256-256gb-ssd-review/1
There are people who are happy with their Vertex but there also continue to be reports of lockups. Personally, I decided I didn't want to chance it, especially in light of the real world testing and price difference. Summit would be another option, if you can find one. -
Do you know the Corsair's random read/write performance?
I'm cursed with SATA I, so none of those top end speeds apply to meAll I can do is try to maximize random read/write performance and be satisfied that large transfers capped at 70-90MB/s will still beat a 5400 platter handily.

That Corsair does look good. Thanks for the link.

Dell has the Samsung (exact same as Corsair) for $480 under storage accessories... quite the deal if you need space and want a SSD. While not as strong performance as Intel or Indilinx based SSDs, it should blow away all HDDs and Jmicron SSDs.

Are you still as positive about your SSD?
I have a 13" MBP now and am looking for a low budget SSD. -
If you are looking for a deal on an SSD, I may sell this one when I get the new one. -
So, I went with the 250gb Vertex. Picked it up today.
