Hi,
I purchased a new Samsung 900X3B laptop with a SSD drive in. Before I partitioned the hard drive further, the SSD drive was fully aligned.
I wanted a separate partition for my data, so converted the Windows partition to logical, as there was a small 100MB system partition.
My Data partition is 37.9GB and Windows is 54.9GB. Here are the details of the partitions :
Partition Disk #0, Partition #0 (System)
Partition Size 100.00 MB (104,857,600 bytes)
Partition Starting Offset 1,048,576 bytes
Partition Disk #0, Partition #1
Partition Size 92.92 GB (99,772,648,448 bytes)
Partition Starting Offset 106,926,592 bytes
Partition Disk #0, Partition #2 (Hibernation)
Partition Size 4.29 GB (4,609,540,096 bytes)
Partition Starting Offset 99,883,155,456 bytes
Partition Disk #0, Partition #3 (Recovery)
Partition Size 21.93 GB (23,542,628,352 bytes)
Partition Starting Offset 104,492,695,552 bytes
I believe that Disk #0, Partition #1 is not aligned as when I divide the Partition Starting Offset by 4096 it comes to 26105.125.
When I ran Paragon Alignment Tool it stated that that partition was not aligned.
Why is it showing the Windows and Data partition as one?
Once the Paragon Alignment Tool had finished, it said they were all fully aligned by I still get 26105.125.
Which one should I listen to? How can I fix this?
Thanks

Anyone able to help?

If it is dividable by 1024, then it should be aligned as well if i'm not mistaken.

I'd dump your partitions. With an SSD, fragmentation is your friend. At least convert the thing to a dynamic disk...

You mean in Paragon Alignment Tool it shows the Windows and Data partition as one?
SSD Alignment - Paragon Alignment Tool - .125 Out
