Unfortunately, I decided NOT to buy the X-25 when it came up this winter in the retail edge Big Deal.

I am looking for a 2.5" SSD, preferably with 80GB+ for a great price.

Any opinions? I currently have a 320GB 7,200RPM drive inside, havent pulled the cover yet to see the make/model yet though

Nver heard of the drive... might have a crap controller causing problems later on... ur safest bet would be to get an Intel G2 SSD... the 160GB version costs about $450-500... See the thread below... there's a G2 going for $450..

Meh, it's still not very good. Looks better than the 602, but still far, far behind Indilinx and Intel in random writes.

I'd honestly still stick with Intel and Indilinx at this point. Even the PB22-J looks better than the 612. There are very fast Marvell and Sandforce drives available now, but they're expensive and without a proven track record (with regard to reliability, etc).

OCZ Vertex. Can't go wrong. Have 4 of them in all my notebooks. No issues at all.

I'm pretty sure that "doesn't stutter" should not be the only criteria when evaluating drives.

As other said, it's still slower than Intel, Indilinx, and Samsung drives, not to mention Sandforce / Marvell.
