Its been months since I last posted here or even bother about looking up the latest laptops from asus (noticed intel's new 17-2670).

While I was configuring the ASUS G74SX-DH71, I found 3 drives that I may be interested in:

    1 - vertext 2
    2 - vertex 3
    3 - OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS

Well, I'm assuming the vertex 3 is faster so I would be interested in that. Whats the difference between choice 2 and 3?

    Whats the IOPS about?

Check out some of the threads, OCZ has a bad rep for their SF based ssds. IIRC the Ver 2 was good, the Vet3 are not getting a lot of love.

Loads of people complaining about OCZ lately, I am pretty sure I will never buy any OCZ SSD. :)

Any OCZ is pretty much guaranteed to have reliability, stability, or firmware problems. After a few major problems with their drives I'm done with the brand.

Any word on the octane regarding this yet.

In any Xellon, if you can wait up to next week, we'll know if Crucial will fix their 5000 hours bug and the M4 will become a viable alternative again.
