I've been seeing these Hybrid SSD everywhere and just wondering if anyone had some information on them?
What are the upsides, and downsides?
Are they worth the extra $$ for the upgrade?
How does it compare to the pure SSD?
Thanks in advance.

If you are an average user, Seagate XT offers the most bang for the buck in my opinion.

If you're not in a rush, the 2nd generation Seagate XT's should be coming out soon.

Any idea when? Month? 2 month?
Also where's a good place to buy them, cheap, reliable?
Thanks -

Take some time to read through this thread. There's a lot of good information there and details of user experiences.

I've gone to that thread and read through half-ish of it ... that's a lot ... heh
But I've decided that I do want it and would like to know if anyone knew a good place to buy them, I see them floating around for $99 which is decent enough. Just wanted to know if anyone had some other place which is reliable. -
Amazon and Newegg both have 'm for $99 with free shipping.
Newegg has the highest rating: http://www.google.com/products/cata...ei=zRSGTpKdOM7rOZb5lNUB&sqi=2&ved=0CEkQ8wIwAQ -
Thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for.
Didn't know google has a product search. Good to know for future -
Yeah I like it too. It's called Google Shopping. Good for searching for low prices.
