    Hello all, long story short:
I plan on getting my first laptop this summer for college
Something portable that can also be used for the occasional gaming

    Probably going to get
    This
    Same one just different site/details

Then I plan on buying an ssd separate and installing it

I was wondering if you need to get a transfer kit?
    This 128gb is 109.99 currently
    http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2-5-I...JKZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338274625&sr=8-1

But with the kit its 124.99
    http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2-5-I...JLB6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1338274625&sr=8-2

So if I got the $110 would I need to download/buy windows 7 and install that? or transfer all the files by usb or what

Also on a separate question, can you have 2 drives in there?
Like the 128 ssd for the operating system, then the old 750 hdd for movies and stuff. or would I have to take that out,
    & Get an external drive

Ty for those that read my wall of text lol

You do not need to buy the transfer kit in order to install Windows 7 on your SSD. You can download a Windows 7 ISO, burn it to a DVD, and follow the instructions on this link:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html

As for using two drives, there isn't enough room in that Asus to replace the ODD with a HDD caddy. You could buy an enclosure (USB2.0, 3.0, or eSATA), or you could get an external HDD bay, like the Thermaltake BlacX STU0005U (which I use for my 500GB HDD).
