i've found a couple 1.8 in SSDs i'm considering installing in my sony TZ, here and here, but neither appear to come with a zif connector.

my question is does anyone know if a zif adapter can be applied and would fit if installed in a tz? does anyone know where to get such an adapteR?

    It depends.
    It's gonna work no doubt.
But I don't think it would fit though considering the TZ being minimalist already.

The only adapter I know of was meant for Compact Flash cards but should work with regular IDE HDD's/SSD's

(and was meant for the iPod)

No they won't work. The 50pin IDE interface in the links is not a ZIF interface. I haven't found a proven IDE->ZIF adapter anywhere yet. To get the right SSD for your laptop, go to dvnation.com and check their product list.

ah okay. i thought i might be able to skimp a few bucks by buying in other places, but dvnation seems to have a great rep and provides the exact type the TZ needs.

$600 seems a bit steep for 32GB, but i've not been able to find any other place for the ZIF type, so I guess that's what it has to be...
