    Hi,

Since SSD has no physical moving parts, is it reasonable to expect that SSD's will continue to make big improvements in speed versus HDD? Is there a stopping point in their "evolution"? I know SSD's are fairly new especially in the area of replacing HDD's in computers. I'm wondering if they'll become seen as a more vital part of a computer upgrade of quick evolving technologies like CPU, GPU, etc.

/This coming from a non-PC gamer. Sorry for my ignorance here.

The flash memory technology has improved drastically since they started SSD's. Price is the only setback.

It will probably take over mechanical drives in the future...

It always comes back to the 'price' issue.
Money is the biggest obstacle, but yes, as flipfire said, there is a good possibility SSD's will replace mechanical drives in the near future.
