Hey guys I'm waiting for my new dv7t and I was wondering what you guys thought would be a good ssd to put in next to the 250 gb I've got in it already.
Also what would be the specific advantages of installing the os on the ssd.
I'm assuming faster load times, but only guessing.
P.S. I config'ed it with a T9550.

Yes you would get faster load times on everything you do. As long as that peice of information is on the SSD. Example if you load your games on your 250gb hard drive the loading time will be about the same because its using the slower drive. I have thought about getting an Intel x25-m for my dv7 but i cant afford it. It you can afford it i would go for it.

How much are you willing to spend and what is the minimum size for the OS drive that you would consider?

You may consider looking thru the thread at the bottom of my sig ( Team SSD Desire), if you already haven't.
Particularly the latter posts; The OP is pretty out-of-date concerning specific recommendations (it's a very fast moving world in SSDville). -
Wow, after taking a look at SSD prices I think I'll stick to regular HDD's. What do you guys think about tossing this Hdd into my new laptop and how difficult is it to do?

Shouldn't be difficult, though if you want the fastest go for a 7200RPM drive. Seagate has a 500GB 7200RPM drive.
