    HI,
I was wondering if its possible to use SSD in HDD caddy and use it as primary drive?

does it cause any issues in the long term..

I suggest installing the SSD on drive 0 (main drive) to avoid any errors in the future and transfer your secondary drive to the caddy (drive 1)..This would ensure optimum performance as well since optical drive bays sometimes use SATA 1 ports like on my M14x, which would greatly hinder the SSD's performance..
