With an SSD drive, is ccleaner's "secure delete" function, where it would overwrite the files multiple times to destroy your data, just a useless function? Or worse, a dangerous function?

I assume it wouldn't work and would also shorten the lifespan of the SSD unnecessarily.

I dunno about the secure delete function, but you can use Eraser to bury data in specific folders, or in a whole drive. Normally a 3 Pass DoD is more than enough, or you can use Guttmann's for overkill.
