A small query...............i'v heard a lot about SATA PATA and SSD but havent heard nytin about the XD.......what is it?...............and people have been posting comments that the SSDs are the fastest hard Drives on the Planet.and shall remain that way 4 some time...............can ny1 back up such statements................as a need help in this regard......i am about to urgrade my 500GB 5400 to a 160 GB SSD SONY.....RAID 0.......a wise decision? or is there a better HDD available..............

Raid 0 isn't going to help much unless you by two of the drives and have 2 hdd bays. Otherwise, its still one drive. Mind posting laptop specs?

xD is just another flash memory format, mainly used in cameras. Not very popular though, you don't really hear much about it. And performance is probably a lot worse than any SSD or HDD...

I wouldn't say a "replacement" per se, but yes, they primarily come with SATA and PATA interfaces.

So if they use sata and pata interfaces........why is it that they are so much more expensive................besides can they be used in a raid 0 config?????
