    I have had a few messages with cold boots lately that might point to a SSD issue. Is there a reliable, easy to use SSD testing software out there especially for SSD's that I can use to determine if my 1 year old SSD is failing? What do I look for when using the software?

    Thanks, tried that. My SSD is in excellent health and should last until 2021.
    The link below is where I start this adventure.
    LINK

    I don't know if its the SSD, but I wanted to rule it out and so far the only definitive way to test this I have found is to remove the drive replace in other machine to test or try another SSD. Both of these methods are stupid in my book as the drivers from one laptop to another are different and buying another SSD just to test theory is costly.

    Evil Claw, What brand of SSD is it? If it is intel I would recommend the 3.0.1 toolbox

    SSD Life doesn't know how long your SSD will last - it is simply guessing how much nand life is left (which has no bearing on how long the drive will be reliable for).

    It sounds like you are using a used SSD? Might simply be incompatible with your BIOS/MB, O/S's and/or setup/usage (drivers/software/tasks).

    Not costly to test a new SSD if you buy from a store with a no-fee return policy.

    Good luck.

    It was brand new SSD. It had worked fine for about a year and may still be working fine. Was just looking for an easy way to test.

    @JOSEA- Its a Kingston SSDNOW V+100 128gb

    So Intel testing won't do me any good.
